80% Funded, T-Shirt Design Revealed, Story Told

80% of Goal Hit!

We passed 80% of the goal in only 8 days. I'm blown away. I'm so grateful for the support, and can't wait to see how this unfolds. A couple things I wanted to let you in on:

One of the incentives for this campaign is a limited edition T-shirt drawn by my twin brother, Adam Pasion. The T-shirt graphic is done, and I'm excited to show it to you. Here's the story.

I read an article a few months ago. It was all about why procrastinators procrastinate. If you want to read it, it really is brilliant. http://waitbutwhy.com/2013/10/why-procrastinators-procrastinate.html

Anyway, in the article are characters such as the Procrastination Monkey and the Panic Monster, as well as a place we all go when we don't want to do our work; the Dark Playground. The Dark Playground is usually watching a worthless YouTube interview of Justin Bieber's mom or something equally meaningless…anything to get away from the thing you really need to do. Non-procrastinators will just never understand.

Needless to say, all throughout the launch of this project, I've had deadlines that my friend and cowriter Karyn has helped me keep - writing songs, launching the Kickstarter, videos, and general communication. There were more than a few times she called and caught me in the dark playground, watching some ridiculous (or if you ask me, very cool) documentary about an octopus. I don't know what it is about those creatures, but they captivate me. Anyway, one day, she texted for an update on a project, and I was watching a video of an octopus fighting a seal. It wasn't going well for the seal, and I needed to finish this video(it was very sad), but there was a looming deadline. Ignoring the deadline, I started watching beavers. They're fascinating as well. I texted Karyn how great it would be if we lived in world where a beaver would fight an octopus. Does a fresh water octopus exist? Where was i... oh, so the text I received from Karyn was a little emoticon of an octopus, an X and a beaver, which told me I needed to get back to work.

We thought it would be fun to make my dark playground into a wearable memory as well as giving me my lifelong dream of seeing an octopus fighting a beaver. My brother is an incredible artist. You can find his work at biguglyrobot.net
